Saturday I just went over to my mom's place, chilled downstairs and work on my grandmother's Mother's Day portrait, while listening to Torchwood.  Stayed up rrreeeallly late, but got up at 6 n' was okay. :)  Mum & I went down to my gramma's in Harrisonburg to help her do some yardwook, & since I'd not expected to do so & no one had any sunscreen, I ended up spending the morning in my fancy 3/4 sleeve red blouse (fully buttoned up) and a wide-brimmed witches' hat that my grandmother happened to have in her garage. *grins*  (It was the only thing w/a considerable brim.  -Gotta keep a consistant palor for the movie I'm in- as I'm not done filming my char's scenes! ;D)  The wind kept trying (and succeeding) to snatch the chapeau right off my head, making it frustrating as hell to keep the hat on AND get any gardening done. :P  (Ya shouldda seen me trying to rake & sweep one-handed while attempting to keep the dern hat on. *grins*  I felt like such a Victorian lady, gardening in all my full-cover, fancy duds. *lol*)  Eventually I just ended up stuffin' the hat in my gramma's mailbox at the end of our duties, just so I could get the sweeping done. :)

I musta looked like quite a sight- doing yardwork in the front yard in a full-sleeved outfit & a witches' hat. *lol*  ("Weirdo Clears Tree Rubbish, Creating Public Spectacle as Good Mother's Day Deed, News @ 11.")  ^_^   Don't belive me?  Here's proof- mom caught a pic of me scowling at the wind while desperately drying to keep the hat on my head as we finished up for the day. :)

Pout!

Then we retired to the indoors, they both got their MD gifts (which they really seemed to like ^_^) and everyone proceeded to pretty much chill for the rest of the day.  We had a great lunch, vegged out together n' seperately throughout Gramma's house, n' went to bed early to get up again just as early the next morning.  (I.e. today.)  Up again @ six, we had a good breffist, I went downstairs to retrieve some of my stuff from gramma's storage basement, & we ventured out to.. *drum roll, please* the Green Valley Book Fair! ^_^

If you haven't been there before and might find yourself in the Harrisonburg VA area in the next few weeks, I HIGHLY recommend you go drop by there n' take a look.  They have ALL KINDS of wicked-cool books for all tastes, and at such super-low discounts it's nearly madness.  I've bought $55 coffee table books there for $5 in the past, big fancy art books there for less than $8, and unabridged $30-50 audio books on CD for $12>. :D  It is a good, good place for book lovers, young and old alike!   They even happened to be filming this seaon's commerical for the place while Gramma & I sat nearby watching, waiting for mom to come back from her long venture in one of their downstairs alleys (and she was the one who wasn't keen on going! *lol*), so that was fun, too. ^_^  (They're only open a few weeks, five or so times a year, so they like to let folks know the book fair's back in town. :))

The best part?  I -really- knew it was gonna be a good day when we walked in, I asked the ladies where the knitting books were so I could find a gift for a friend of mine, and found these two books RIGHT OFF THE BAT!   I hadn't been looking for them in -any- way- they just kind of popped up as I walked over to the secion like "here we are!!!"  *superglee*  They were right near one another, n' if you've ever seen me try to shop in a busy-looking area w/lots of stuff, you know a; how long it takes me to find stuff, and b. how hard it is for me to spot some things.. n' these two jumped right out at me. ^_^  It was like kizmet!  :D  I've been wanting these for some time; one because I love the site n' their style of crafting, and the other to get me inspired to learn how to knit. :)

Plus I also got these little gems, for stupid-cheap:

(If you clicky upon zem, zey take you to their corresponding Amazon pages. :))

Afterward, we made a quick drop to Wal-Mart so I could exchange the frames I'd bought for my mom & gramma's MD drawings, (which had turned out to be too small for the paper size I had- d'oh!), and then we went to Jalisco, the BEST Mexican restaurant in the world. 8D  We came back, I gave my granny her drawing (which she genuinely seemed to love ^_^), and we packed up to go home.  Mom did some errands and we went to Costco briefly before she took me home, and in the process we caught an AMAZING sunset.  The sun was setting all super-brilliant and deeeep orange-red, contrasting against an already darkened sky n' shining off the wet world (as it was actively raining), n' it was just.. beautiful. ^_^  I tried to capture it w/my cell phone, but the color pallette wasn't up to snuff. :(

Still, I got a relatively pretty picture. *beams*

Me mum dropped me off rather late-ish, n' now here I is- a happy pear who's not gotta pack pack pack so I'm all done by the weekend. :)  (Which will be a busy one- as we've got filming, the MD Faerie Festival is happening both days, n' my mom's got us planned to go on a limo ride w/my gramma, to trip around to a vintner in VA, & do a bunch of other posh stuff- for her present to us all for Mother's Day. :))
Then my mom'll be coming 'round at some point to start helping me move, n' that'll be it.

Thank God the pool opens on the 15th! ;D

Love to All,
Nae
