He's from the Nutcracker. :) It's the Rat King, and when in search for a ratty-related icon, my friend Linda sent 'im my way.
This image was part of a "Mermaids" calendar that I got in college and just fell in love with. I (and others) thought she kinda resembed me n' my "vibe," so I pulled 'er out of the calendar n' tried to save her year after year (for putting up on a wall in tuture), but somehow she got lost in the multiple moves. I'd been searching and searching to find her online again over the course of many years, so when I found 'er not long ago I SNAGGED her UP. :). It's meant to be sort of a classical representation of me/instrinsic self portraid, w/an old spelling of th word "naiad" that also (coinsidentally) fits in conveniently w/my name. (I.e. replacing the "i" w/an "e-" which is another alternative spelling of the word.)
Found this guy's art at pinuptoons.com and LOVED it, so I pouuuured through his work to find one that was sort of self-representational. This was the closest one I could find- aside from a "Selkie" image who also happened to be dark-haired and large-eyed. Plus she's also all kinds of coy, performery and bellydancy, so I dig 'er. :)

This is an exerpt from the video for Madonna's song "I'm Not Sorry." I'd done a Google search to find an icon from this vid in the hopes of getting something all unapologetic and bold, but found (and fell in love with) this li'l tidbit instead. :) It's one of my faves of hers, (video as well as song both), n' I just loved her play-paddling this puppy, all random-like. :) (If you watch the video it's totally cute and funny, like she's mockingly tanning the li'l guy's hide for piddling on the sofa. :))
One of my fave moves, EVER, Period. I just happened to catch it on telly recently, and paused it for one of my fave (and sparkliest) scenes. It was originally meant to capture the necklace she's picking up here, but as I couldn't get the whole thing in-frame, I decided to make an LJ icon out of it. :) "Charm her... Woooo her... Make her one of uusssssss." *glee*
