As a kid my first love was gold. But then I got into gothier & more magickal circles, & friends turned me on to the virtues of silver. Plus, as a teen, I was told by a various sources NOT to wear gold, because w/my skin tone gold would simply -not- go. (Though I still don't know whether I'm actually an "Autumn" or "Winter..." :P) Spiritually, I like the purity & power of silver, & the magpie in me likes its mirror-like quality. But I still find myself liking the glow & shiny warmth of gold. (For a goth, liking gold feels kind of like a guilty pleasure. ;))[Poll #1555095]
I have no idea why; as I just got a timed ultimatum letter from them YESTERDAY, (w/a deadline of over a month back :P) asking for me to pay back money they say they overpaid me.. but today I just checked my bank account and there is a DECENT sum in there, sent on behalf of the US government. ^_^ (And it ain't no stimulus package, I can assure you!) I called the people at SSI just to make sure and to figure out what was going on (as well as to cover my butt in case it was a mistake), but it seems the facts are right (well, as far as their figures will ever be, anyway), and I AM indeed getting yon previously mentioned sum- correctly! O.O It's a little goofy the way they're doing things, and theoretically I should just be getting nothing ftm & starting the month/year off where they're concerned w/a clean slate, but I'm -NOT- gonna look a gift-horse in the mouth!! -Especially when I've been needing help so badly. ^_^ (And to all those who'd bitch about their paying my way through life, rest assured that w/all the work I put in this year, I'm footing my own bills.) :) So now I can pay whatever rent is left that I owe still, settle up w/my -outrageous- taxes (totalling no less than a grand), get the rest of my utils. clear, pay back those who helped me through this brief time of terror, and I'll be allll leveled up- for the time being. :) Hopefully by then I'll be ready to go into "my" new place come June 1st, at which point any of you who still wish to reach me can do so- via my cell phone number. :)
